Competition Rules

1. Who can play

• You must be 18 years of age or older. ID may be requested at the bar.
• Registration is one entry per person. We use email to enforce this.
• Staff of Island Beer Chill & Grill and their immediate family are not eligible to win.

2. How to earn an entry

• The challenge runs over 13 themed drinks — 8 cocktails (one per nation) and 5 beers.
• Each time you order one of the 13 drinks, show your personal QR code to bar staff. They scan it and the drink is recorded against your card.
• Once you have purchased one of each of the 13 drinks (a "lap"), you earn one entry into the raffle.
• You may complete additional laps for additional tickets. There is no cap.

3. Scans

• Scans are recorded only at the point of purchase, by bar staff. No retroactive entries.
• If your QR fails to scan, ask staff to look you up by name — they can re-issue your QR from your card.
• Accidental double scans count as an extra purchase of that drink, not as a duplicate lap entry. Honest mistakes don't help or hurt your ticket count meaningfully.

4. The draw

• The draw will be conducted on the night of 17 July 2026 at Island Beer Chill & Grill, in front of patrons watching the World Cup final.
• Entries are weighted by ticket count — a patron with 3 tickets has 3× the chance of a patron with 1 ticket.
• One prize per winner. Once drawn, a winner is removed from the pool for subsequent draws.
• Four standard prizes are drawn first, followed by the grand prize.
• Winners will be contacted via the email or phone number provided at registration. Unclaimed prizes after 14 days will be redrawn at the bar's discretion.

5. Privacy

• We store the name, email, phone, and scan history you provide for the duration of the competition.
• We use SendGrid (Twilio) to deliver sign-in emails. Your email address and first name pass through SendGrid only for that purpose. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your information with any other third party.
• All patron data — including this site — will be archived and the database purged after 1 August 2026.
• Email us at matthew.encinas@gmail.com to request your record be deleted earlier.

6. Other

• Island Beer Chill & Grill reserves the right to disqualify any entry obtained through abuse of the scanning system.
• Decisions of bar management on all matters relating to the competition are final.
• These rules are a starting draft for the launch of the competition — please re-read closer to 16 June for any updates.
